Adding tickets to Event Cart

Hello! For some reason when our customers add tickets to their Event Carts, the button routes them back to our Concert and Ticket Page rather than to their Shopping Cart. This was NOT a problem until TODAY. How can we fix it? Folks can see their tickets under SHOP – SHOPPING CART, but this is confusing to some of our patrons. Yesterday, folks could add a ticket and go directly to their shopping cart.

Here is a same event page with tickets for sale: https://bachinbaltimore.org/portfolio-items/june5_2022/

We have a concert with limited tickets for sale for 12/5:
https://bachinbaltimore.org/portfolio-items/december5_2021/

Thank you for your assistance in resolving,
Kristen

Hi Kristen,

You mentioned this wasn’t an issue until today, so what changed today?

For example, have you just updated? If so from which version number?

Is the page here: https://bachinbaltimore.org/portfolio-items/june5_2022/

A standard page just using the [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR] shortcode to output the ticket selectors?

Thanks for your reply! It is possible that we have updated in the past couple of days and this just hasn’t been brought to my attention until now.

We are running currently Event Espresso 4.10.19.p
Event Espresso MER 2.0.18.p
Event Espresso Promotions 1.0.15.p
Event Espresso Ticketing 1.0.11.9

We have MANY events. You can see ALL of them here: https://bachinbaltimore.org/concerts-tickets/

This is just one event page: https://bachinbaltimore.org/portfolio-items/june5_2022/

On each event page, we do use code [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR event_id=xxxxxx] to show each ticket selections. For instance [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR event_id=270315]

Do you have any ideas for how to make the pop up box for after putting tickets into Event Cart work again? Thank you!

Hi Kristen,

I’ve spent some time digging into this and currently, I can’t reproduce the same issue.

First, a quick explanation of what appears to be happening.

When you use the multi-event registration add-on it adds some JavaScript to the page when the ticket selector is loaded. That JS then listens for click on the ticket selector submit button and rather than POSTing the details to EE, it adds the tickets to the cart in the background.

On your site, that additional Multi-Event JavaScript isn’t loading on some of your pages, it looks like it when you use a page builder to load the page.

So, to give an example I’ll use the link from your opening post.

On this page: https://bachinbaltimore.org/portfolio-items/june5_2022/

There is a ticket selector for this event:

https://bachinbaltimore.org/events/summer-soiree/

The Multi-Event JS loads on the default /events/ output, but not on your custom page.

I’d like to investigate this further to see what is happening on the request, can you send me a copy of the theme?

Sure. How do I send you a copy of the theme? I use Avada. While I designed and maintain the site, I am not a coder…:)

You can either host the .zip and post a link here for me to download, or send it to support[at]eventespresso.com

However, if using email I’m guessing the file will be larger than 10MB and will be rejected, in that case, you’ll need to use something like WeTransfer to send it.

Thanks, I’m not 100% sure how to do this — should I use a plugin to export the theme, like “Export Theme.”

I’ve not used that plugin but you can try if you’d like.

Or the other option is to send me FTP credentials and I’ll pull the files directly from the server, if you prefer that, use this form:
