Hi, I need users to be able to add multiple attendees at different price points, i.e. different rates, on the same booking form, but I am not sure how to do this in EE. Also I would like to be able to offer a discount for group bookings. Could you please tell me how to implement this. Thanks, Nick |
Hi Nick, This is possible with the Multi Event Registration add-on. Please see this related answer in another thread: |

Thanks Josh. The Multi Event Registration add-on looks like just what I need for the first part. What about offering a group discount. Is this possible too? Nick |
Hello Nick, Check out the Volume Discounts add on. It is probably what you are looking for. https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-sell-season-tickets-with-volume-discounts/ |

Thanks Jonathan. It looks like what I am after, but when I activate it and set the settings the registration cart (multi event registration) disappears and I get a js error on espresso_volume_discounts.js “Reference Issue Can’t find variable:waitingForAjax” referring to line 70:

Hi Nick, Not seen that issue before, can you give us a little feedback. Event Espresso Version |
Hi Dean, I have temporarily activated the Volume discount plugin again so that you can see the effect it has on this page: http://openparadigmproject.com/event-registration/?regevent_action=show_shopping_cart It strips out the cart, and you should see the error in the Inspector. Hi Nick. I think it may have to do with the color.js that’s running from the theme as it is setting a timeout that the checkout is also using. Im no JS expert but I think that is the issue. We need to rule out that it is a JS conflict, so I would start by disabling the color.js and see what happens. |
Hi Dean, I have now disabled color.js and I am still getting the same error on the page. Nick |
Hi Nick, OK, I think I will need to refer this onto a dev, but it will be later today before they can respond due to timezone differences. |
Sure. That’s OK. Thanks. |
Hi Nick, We’ll need to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts in order to pinpoint where the problem is coming from. Can you deactivate all of the non EE plugins and temporarily switch to the twentyeleven theme and check to see if the issue persists? |
OK, I have done this and will leave this in place for an hour or two in the hope that you can look at it. I disabled all non EE plugins and switched to twentyeleven theme and the issue still persists: http://openparadigmproject.com/event-registration/?regevent_action=show_shopping_cart The form should show three prices for the event but nothing shows and the same error as above shows. If you can’t get proper access to the page above using the link, you can get to the page via the link at the top and bottom of this page: http://openparadigmproject.com/brighton-seminar/ Thanks, Nick |
Sorry I had to reactivate the plugin and the theme, as people are starting to use the site. But, as I said, when I deactivated everything other than EE plugins and switched to the twentyeleven theme, the issue still persisted. |

Once I reactivated everything, checked the Volume discount settings and changed a couple of these settings, the plugin has started working again – so no idea what the problem was, but thanks anyway for looking at it. One more thing, it looks like I can’t set more than one group discount. Is this correct? I’d like to offer a 5% discount for 5 or more bookings, and a 10% discount for 10 or more bookings. Thanks, Nick |
Hi Nick, I’m not able to reproduce these errors. It’s working fine from here: |
Thanks Josh As per my last post, it started working again after I reactivated everything, but the error is still showing up on the page when I look in my inspector. Does it show up for you too? Also please see my question in my last message about multiple discounts. |
Hi Nick, The error is visible in the web inspector, and this will be addressed in a future update. In the meantime, it will not affect the functionality of the Volume discounts add-on. At this time, the Volume discounts add-on can be configured one type of volume discount at a time. |

Hello Nick, Glad you got it sorted, I for one would still love to know what caused it, but sometimes these things just work themselves out. IF it occurs again please let us know. Regarding the Volume Discount plugin. As it stands it can only be used for one discount. It’s still a new add on for us, so new features will no doubt appear for it in time. I will mark down a +1 for the extra number of discounts in our internal feature request form. |
