Adding attendees after event – without email confirmations sending

Hi there, I use Event Espresso for weekly networking events. We regularly have people who turn up on the day without booking, and so i want to add them to the event afterwards so we can keep a log of attendees.

However it seems to insist on sending a booking confirmation even though it is past the event date. Is there any way to change this (maybe in the code itself) so that booking confirmations only go out if the event is still open? Or just do not send when it is an admin adding them manually? I cannot just change the settings each time as that will be very time consuming.

Thanks!
Lucy

Hi Lucy,

I’m sorry for the delay in the response. This forum thread unintentionally was lost track of.

It’s possible to change this in the code itself to not send out emails when it’s an admin adding them manually.

The functions that make it possible to add an attendee via the admin panel is add_new_attendee.php which is in /includes/admin-reports of the event-espresso plugin folder.
The code that fires the email is on line 7.

Both the admin email and attendee emails are set to true, either or both of these can be set to false.
