Adding a registrant to a closed event

We have events that have tickets that close about a week prior so that we can finalize contracts and such. Occasionally we need to add late request for a VIP or in a recent case just add an additional guest to an attendees current registration. However when we try to add them manually through the EE admin dashboard it wont let us because the tickets are closed. We dont want to open the ticket dates as an unintentional registration might take place and overflow our existing contract. How can we add someone to a closed event without making it publicly available for registration.

On a related note… actually same issue just different use. During open meeting check-ins we want to be able to add walk-ins to the registration list. Same issue, the event ticket is closed because the event is happening and we dont want anyone to register if not already there. However we can not add them to the check-in list because the ticket is closed. Very frustrating!

Hopefully we just missed something and this not a real issue. All we need to do is manually add people on the admin side once the public ticket is closed.

Hi John,

Currently, you would need to use the same workflow that you are using to temporarily open the ticket option and then add them and close the event.
