Hi Guys,
I’ve just upgraded to your Stripe plugin after finding out the Mijireh had died, and have noticed that I’m not getting a custom field on my invoice anymore. I’m not sure that there is a connection but I previously had a custom field called “Company Name”, and then used …

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*Company Name]

… in the invoice template. And it used to display fine. But now it doesn’t.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance,

Mike

Hi Mike,

There wouldn’t be a connection between using Stripe and a change to your invoice template.

The first thing to check for is the Company Name question, does it appear on the registration form? If it does, then the next thing to check is within the Invoice template editor (in Event Espresso > Messages > Default Message Templates > Invoice). If you look at the customized invoice template, is the shortcode still there?

Hi Josh,
I was sure that would be the case. Mt thinking is that it might relate to our recent upgrade of Event Espresso.

If I have a look at Default (etc) -> Invoice, I still see:

[INVOICE_PAYMENT_INSTRUCTIONS]
Bill To:

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_FNAME] [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_LNAME]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*Company Name]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ADDRESS]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ADDRESS2]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_CITY], [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*County/Region]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ZIP_PC]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_COUNTRY]

What do you think might have happened?

All the best,

Mike

Hi Mike,

I did a registration as a test on your site and the Company Name field displays on the invoice. Are you sure you’re looking at the invoice when you do not see the company name?

Hi Josh,

Yes, definitely looking at the pdf invoice. If you have a way of looking at transaction ID 2819 on our account … although I suspect that’s buried away in our WordPress world. But those fields are mandatory and there’s no data in them in that pdf.

I’ve also looked at the Registration details provided by the client and they filled in the field. It’s just not being presented on the pdf.

All the best,

Mike

Hi,

I actually do not have a way of looking at transaction IDs on your site. Does the event related to transaction ID use a different invoice template than the default?

HI Josh,

Thanks for getting back. Is there a quick way of checking that? It has been a while since I’ve looked into this as everything was working so well.

All the best,

Mike

You go to edit the event and go to the HTML tab of the Notifications box. If the message type says it’s using a template other than Global, then that means a custom template is in use.

The notifications -> invoice -> Global

Likewise receipt.

If you check other transactions for that same event, does the Company Name field have a value in the invoice? The reason I ask is because the test registration I did has the Company Name value, but I don’t know which event is the event in question.

Hi Josh,
The event on the site is https://tx2events.com/events/giving-it-back-wcit-industry-dinner-2020

The notifications Templates are Global and if I click the edit button it takes me to a page where the Main Content of the invoice contains

Bill To:

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_FNAME] [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_LNAME]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*Company Name]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ADDRESS]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ADDRESS2]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_CITY], [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*County/Region]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ZIP_PC]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_COUNTRY]

I think this started to happen after I upgraded to the most recent version of Event Espresso.

If I look at invoices from previous transactions that use the same template, the company information is contained within the invoice.

Is there a way I can set you up to have a look at our site?

All the best,

Mike
