Added Event Name and Date Shortcodes to Batch Email

Hello!

I am creating batch emails to send out to event attendees. The batch emails show up as “Newsletter Content”. When I go to see what shortcodes are accepted, nothing about an actual event shows up in the list. I will be sending these batch emails to registrants for the specific event they signed up for. Is there any way to add a shortcode so the Event Name and Event Date they signed up for shows automatically in the batch email?

Thanks!

Hi there,

Currently not, at least not easily.

Originally the ‘batch’ message type was designed to work with ‘contacts’ in that it would pull all of the contacts for the selected registrations and then use the EE_Contact objects to construct messages.

We’ve since switched that out so the batch feature is now a ‘Registration’ based message type which means you could add a shortcode to the pull information in based on the registration (such as the event/ticket/datetime it is linked to) but we don’t have anything in the UI to handle those setups for that message type.

Adding your own shortcodes into the message system can be done but can be fairly involved, take a look here to give you a starting point:
