When I use the add to cart shortcode I noticed that event name does not appear in the copy from forms. It only says student registration. I am using 3.1.24.P and the Multi event registration version 1.0.4. I cannot upgrade to version to .25 because of the coupons. Any way to get the event name into the copy from area. It works when I have the add to cart code in the template. Thanks |
Hi Dave, This should be fixed (as well as the coupon issue) in 3.1.26.P, which we’re getting ready to release soon. |
Thanks Josh, When you say soon do you mean in 1 -2 days Dave |
Yes, we are working on finishing up with testing. |
I just tried the 3.1.26.
I used the new files like it says in the change log Dave |
When using a coupon the discount shows on the site but when I reach paypal the discount does not show. Sometimes the discount shows and sometimes it doesn’t. I cleared all cookies to see if it would help but it didn’t |
Hi Dave, Some of the bugfixes included changes to the template files. So if you have any templates files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates, these need to be updated. |
All templates have been updated. Still it doesn’t work |
Hi Josh, Regarding promotions, I noticed with the coupons, if you register for only one class it sends the discount to paypal. If you have more than one class or multiple attendees for one class the coupon is not applied. Dave |
HI Dave, In 3.1.26, the add to cart shortcode will show, but it should not add the event to the cart. This is what I found in testing. I will create a ticket for this. I will also create a ticket for #2 and #3. With the discount not getting sent to PayPal, I tried to reproduce this and I couldn’t. I will need to look into this further to find possible reasons why this is happening on your set up. |

With the discount not getting sent to PayPal, I tried to reproduce this and I couldn’t. I will need to look into this further to find possible reasons why this is happening on your set up. If you do it the first time it works fine, anytime after it does not work. I did this test. I added three different events, add the promo code and then went to checkout via paypal standard. I saw the discount. Decided not to follow through with the purchase, opened up the browser and chose 2 other events and entered the promo code and went to checkout via paypal standard. No Discount, can’t make the discount show again. Dave |
Try clearing the session between tests by navigating to the page that has the espresso_cancelled shortcode. |
I navigated to /registration-cancelled page and it said my registration has been cancelled but still the same results. Dave |
Does that page have the espresso_cancelled shortcode on it? I can submit registrations using the coupon codes more than one time on a few of the test servers I have set up. Clearing the browsers cache between tests should also clear the session. |
I do not have the short code on each event page, are you saying I should have the short code on each page
Josh, Try this test. Choose one event and add three attendees. Fill out the form and add a 50% coupon. Then let it go to paypal. Do not pay but go back to event espresso site and then go to view cart. Change the number of attendees to 2 and make sure the same coupon is used and then go to paypal. Just tried it and discount was not applied.
When I go back to the Event Espresso site, should I use the back button (which will not clear the session) or use the link on the PayPal page to return to the site? (Which will take me to the registration cancelled page and will clear the session). |
Do not cancel the session, go back to the site. Do this a couple of times. |
If you hit the back button from PayPal, the session has no way of clearing (we can’t clear the session on the registation page). So in order for this to work, the link from paypal should be used. One thing that might help would be place a link, or a button to navigate to the registration cancelled page. |
I went onto another browser to try to see if the coupon is working. I cleared everything, cookies, history, cache etc. I add 3 attendees to 1 event and entered the coupon code. It shows the discount on the website. I click confirm registration, it goes to paypal standard and displays all the events, but there is no Discount entry. |
Make sure that you have the updated shopping_cart.php template from 3.1.26.P in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates. You will need to uncomment out the block of code that displays the discount code box. Also, make sure that the current version’s PayPal payment gateway is loading up by checking /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways. There should not be a copy from a previous version in that location. |
I decided to remove all templates and add them back from the 3.1.26 I downloaded. It seems the coupon is working now, I will keep testing to make sure. If you place the promotion at 100% it still doesn’t decrease the number of seats and it still shows as incomplete. Thanks for your help |
When you put in the coupon code, does it discount the price and does it send you off to PayPal? |
It does set the price to 0.00, and you do not go to paypal. You just get the message that your registration is complete and email has been sent to you. |
But it doesn’t mark the attendee’s payment as “Completed”?
No it does not. The attendee is incomplete. |
There’s an open ticket to fix this issue in codebase. |
Great!!!! |
