Can I have add to cart buttons for events, instead of just “register”, so people can purchase more than one without filling out the form for each one?

Also, if so, in the list of events I want people to have the option to add to cart right from there (as well as optionally “view details” to go to the event detail post).

Is this possible? Seems like I have seen examples of people using this feature but they may have had EE3.

Hi Jeanie, the add to cart button is not currently available in Event Espresso 4.

Currently, registering for multiple events in Event Espresso 4 is not available. An attendee/registrant would need to register for a single event at a time.

However, it is available in Event Espresso 3 with the Multiple Event Registration add-on.

Thanks. Another question:
I am confused about Multiple Dates and Times Per Event (which says it is only in E4) vs. https://eventespresso.com/features/multiple-ticket-pricing-options/ (which says it is available in both E3 and E4).
What is the difference? If I use E3 will I need an add-on to be able to have more than one ticket per event? (what I want is two options, one for morning time and one for evening).

Hi, that is a good question.

That feature allows you to create more than one pricing / ticket option per event.

This is available in both versions of Event Espresso.

Here is an example:

Standard Admission – $25
Member Admission – $15

OK, I realize what the feature is for but are those two the same thing:
“Multiple Dates and Times Per Event”
and
“Multiple Ticket Options”
or two different things?

And why does it say in the comparison chart that Multiple dates and times per event is only for E4?

Hi,

They are two different things.

In EE3 you create an event and give it a date. This is limited to concurrent dates. You can have multiple times, but these are for all the dates on the event. You can have multiple options but they all relate to the the event date as a whole. The only way to have a ticket per day was to either name the ticket specifically (e.g. Ticket for Saturday) or to have separate events for each day.

In EE4 you create datetimes and tickets separately within an event. This means that a ticket can be attached to a single datetime (e.g. Saturday) or to multiple datetimes (e.g. Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon).

Basically, the multiple datetimes in EE4 allow a lot more flexibility.
