This must rank as the dumbest question for a while, but here goes: Roles & Permissions description says “The Basic version of the Roles & Permissions addon allows you to create custom WordPress users roles” – I can’t for the life of me find a way to create such new roles, anywhere. What am I missing here? |
Hey Phil — Do you have the Roles & Permissions addon? That functionality is only available in that addon. If you do have a version of Roles & Permissions, things may have changed from the version you have, but the “custom WordPress user roles” is referring to Event Espresso-specific roles that tweak the capabilities of users given those roles. |

Hi Chris, thanks for your reply. |
Hi Phil, I believe the basic version of the Roles and Permissions still works in conjunction with the Members add-on. The Roles and Permissions Pro add-on works without the members plugin. |

Josh, |
That’s all customizable from the admin to whatever you want these to be. By default, the basic Roles and Permissions add-on should only add the Espresso Master Admin/Event admin. There isn’t a group admin. Do you have version 1.5 installed? I might have spoke to soon about it being compatible with the Members plugin by Justin Tadlock. One thing you can do is add event capabilities to other user roles like editor or author. |
