Good morning.
The generated invoice doesn’t show the postal code field. How cann we add this field, and maybe other address fields of the invoice as well?
Thanks in advance.

I see I made a lot of mistakes in my post. So once again:

The generated invoice doesn’t show the postal code field. How can we add this field, and maybe other address fields as well, to the invoice?

Hi there,

If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default Message templates -> Invoice

You can edit the invoice template there.

In the main content section you can edit the address shortcodes, if you click the icon you can see all of the shortcodes available in that section – http://take.ms/gx1AX

Thanks for your quick answer!
Another question in the same context: How can I add custom questions to the invoice?
I tried

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_* Department or Contact Person]

The custom question’s admin label is, of course, “Department or Contact Person”.
Doesn’t work, can you help me?

The custom question’s admin label is

Admin label or ‘Question Text’?

You need the exact value from Question Text, not Admin label.

Thank you for your quick answer.
Question Text and Admin label are exactly the same in my custom questions.
But to be sure, I copied and pasted my custom Question Texts into the invoice template. -> Still they do not appear in the invoice.

Tried to add quotes around the Question Text, like:
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_* ‘Department or Contact Person’]
but this also didn’t help.

In the Receipt, my Custom Questions DO appear “automatically”, I didn’t change anything there.

Any ideas why the custom fields do not appear in the invoice?
Currently the section “Bill to” looks like this:
—–
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_FNAME] [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_LNAME]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_* ‘Company / Organization’]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_* ‘Department or Contact Person’]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ADDRESS]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ADDRESS2]
… and so on.

What is wrong?

Have a good day!

Remove the quotes from the shortcode, those will prevent the shortcode from working. The format of the shortcode is [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*{question_text}]

The question_text used must match the question exactly, adding quotes around the question text means it won’t match (unless you also use quotes like that in the text, which you currently do not).

Based on your registration form your shortcodes would be:

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*Company / Organization]
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*Department or Contact Person]

You don’t have more than one question with the same question text in EE do you?

In the Receipt, my Custom Questions DO appear “automatically”, I didn’t change anything there.

Do you mean this section? – http://take.ms/4DVNV

That’s looping over all questions assigned to a registration there, the invoice is pulling answers for specific questions that you provide the question text for.

Vielen Dank für Ihre Hilfe, ich hatte ein Leerzeichen zwischen [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_* und Company / Organization]. Jetzt klappt’s.
