Hi We have our site live and now the ‘Add more attendees toggle’ is not working. Looks like this happened on Friday of last week after updating WP and EE to try and fix an iPhone app issue. We also setup the API but have deactivated this as well to see if it was causing the issue. I have turned off all non standard theme plugins but this has not rectified the issue. This was working correctly previously so either the EE or WP update has caused an issue but I can not see where. We are using the [raw] tags as well. http://www.auskills.org.au/event-registration/?ee=12 Version etc below Event Espresso version 3.1.30.7P WordPress version WP 3.5.1 Contact Form 7 by Takayuki Miyoshi version 3.3.3, Event Espresso – Calendar by Event Espresso version 2.0.4, Event Espresso – Social Coupons by Seth Shoultes version 1.5.3, Event Espresso – MailChimp Integration by version 1.0.4, Event Espresso – Members Addon by Event Espresso version 1.9.6, Event Espresso – Permissions by Event Espresso version 1.5.3, Event Espresso – Recurring Events by Event Espresso version 1.1.7, Event Espresso – Social Media by Seth Shoultes version 1.1.4, Event Espresso – Ticketing by Event Espresso version 2.0.9, Event Espresso by Event Espresso version 3.1.30.7P, Twitter Wings by Joe Pahl version 1.2.1, WP-Paginate (SuperSkeleton Pre-Packaged Edition) by Eric Martin version 1.2.4 |

I have just noticed that the [raw] tag is being written in the browser so it is not working? – I thought it was a debug mode but it is showing in all browsers. I am not sure what to do in this instance. |

Hi Sam, You have a javascript error, which is why you are having problems as when an error occurs, the javascript stops other javascript from running. I can’t see where the error is coming from exactly, but I would guess the theme (error: http://d.pr/i/Fzff) I would change to the default theme and see if the add more attendees works. The [raw] tags will show if the theme does not support [raw] tags. You can remove them, but they were obviously added due to some issue with the theme not outputting scripts correctly. Did you update the theme recently? |
I have installed the same theme on a test server running ee 3.1.2.7 and the site with the error is running ee 3.1.30.7P and the same theme and wordpress version. Both get the same error The older version has this javascript call – whereas the new install doesn’t would this be causing the issue? script type=’text/javascript’ src=’http://www.vetnetwork.mobi/eventsplanner/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/scripts/espresso_cart_functions.js?ver=3.5.1′>/script I removed the start and end brackets. And if so where do I need to add it back in? |

Hi Sam, So if both test sites are having the same issue with different versions of Event Espresso, and the commonality is the theme, have you tested the attendee toggle with a different theme, such as the TwentyTwelve default theme? |
No the site with the old ee is working fine with the same template etc as the site with the new ee (not working) Sorry – The error I was referring too was your reference – not the toggle working So to me this error is not effecting the toggle as it is working on one site v 3.1.2.7 of ee while the version running 3.1.30.7 the toggle is not working |
Hi Sam, The theme has a jQuery error in the skeleton-key.js. That is what is stopping the toggle from working. |
Dean, Is there any way you could find out why the toggle on my site is not working? http://glyfoundation.org/home/events/?ee=1 This theme was entirely custom built by me, and I am a newbie to wordpress so it is likely I made some mistake in not enabling javascript. Any suggestions? |
@Nicholas, difficult to say as the events are behind a registration wall. If you could provide access I can take a closer look. NOTE: login details need to be Admin level. |

Hi, I would say the main issue here is the fact that the jQuery isnt loading. The theme is disregarding that WordPress comes loaded with jQuery and is using an hard coded script from Google (not recommended). However, it isn’t loading jQuery on that page at all. The theme is purely loading it on the home page. So you have nothing to power any of the jQuery scripts from the theme or plugins except on the home page. Check this article out, its old but relevant http://digwp.com/2009/06/including-jquery-in-wordpress-the-right-way/ |
Doing a theme update has helped but still not perfect but it is working – I still don’t understand how it is all OK with a previous version of EE using the same theme. Sam |
Me either Sam, it should have been causing issue then as well. Only thing I can think is that we have changed something internally on how jQuery is used/loaded due to the recent update of WordPresss to jQuery 1.8.3. What isnt working still? |
I followed the article’s directions, it fixed many other issues I’ve been having, so thanks! I still have no functionality in terms of adding more attendees…Any more suggestions? |

Something is still blocking or stopping from loading certain javascript files: espresso_add_reg_attendees.js There is nothing specific I can see that is causing this, though the console is showing some messages from an analytics package you have running. Can you test the site with a default theme such as TwentyTwelve and see if the attendee toggles works then? If it still doesnt work, then you will have to troubleshoot all the plugins (deactivate them all except EE and EE add on plugins and reactivate one at a time, testing the attendee toggle each time (refresh the page each time as well). |
