Add events to a featured slider

Hello, I was hoping to allow my events to be placed on my featured slider. I assume that I would be required to add the event, which is I understand effectively a post to a category and make it featured (in my themes case).

Any thoughts/ suggestions?

PS – my theme has a custom fields section if that could be a more useful way, rather than any advanced coding or core changing

Hi,

Are you using EE3 or EE4?

With EE3 you could try adding the [SINGLE_EVENT] shortcode to the slider.

EE4 uses true Custom Post Types, so it depends on how the slider handles Custom Post Types. Some may allow you to simply select that post type as a slider, some require more arcane ways of achieving it, even as far as having to add the content directly (in which case you could use the something like the [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR event_id=”your_event_id”] shortcode, though that is not the full event details.
