Hi,

Is it possible to add an event in the middle of a recurring series.

e.g.

Photography Course – 19 Jan – Fully booked
Photography Course – 20 Feb – Fully booked

I’d like to add another event on 2 Feb.

Have tried changing the date of a later event in the series to 2 Feb and that shows in the admin console as open , but does not appear on my site.

Hi Andrew,

Yes this is possible. You need to edit the event and make sure that the options in the red box labelled Would you like to apply any of the changes that you have made to this event to: is set to “All events in the series”.

Then you need to change the recurring event data so that it has the correct dates. Just be careful you don’t shift the original dates around especially if you are using the automatic date creation system.

Update the event.

Hi Dean,

I think I’ve done that.

I’ve now set it so that all recurring events are displayed, and the updated dates are showing out of order as in the screen shot. This means they don’t show at all when I limit the events to show 5.

You’ll see that 3 Feb is after 9 November in the list on this page http://www.36exp.co.uk/dslr-workshop/

I have another event, which is recurring, but manual recurring. I’ve tried to add an event between two dates by manually entering the date in the table in the recurring event section, update all events is ticked, but the event comes last in the list, out of date order.

Hi Andrew,

Sorry for the slight delay in responding. I briefly saw the results yesterday and yes they did look out of order, but I havent been able to recreate them. I am continuing to test this.

I limited the events to show 5 as it looked bad on my site with the events out of order

OK I think I have recreated it or something similar to it, I will raise a developer ticket to look into this.

Just noticed that events appear in the correct order in the widget, just not in the list
