Currently, EE does not have any functionality to add ‘add-ons’ for specific ticket types.
With custom development (you’ll need the help a developer to set it up) you can add questions to an event that will add additional charges to a registration but for the use case mentioned above, if you want to capture the additional daughters information you would need the user to select another ticket.
In that example you can set the Mother/Daughter ticket to be a required ticket (meaning at least 1 of that ticket must be selected for any registrations) and then the user selects any additional tickets they need. Using that setup you can also add additional tickets for other add-ons if needed, however not that to capture the additional tickets info, you need to capture data for ALL additional tickets.
The alternative solution you posted will not work because other than the Mother/Daughter ticket, we also have a ticket option for Father/Son which we would also like to add an “addon” for additional Son..
Then you’ll also need additional tickets for that scenario, just don’t set any of the tickets to be required.
Right now that’s the only way to add additional tickets/add-ons/purchases onto your registrations and collect the additional details for that add-on (in this case a daughter/son).
