Add a group leader for group registration only for payment but not attend event

We’d like to add fields to the registration form for the person who registers a group of people and pays for it by credit card, i.e. the cardholder. Currently, the form is set up so the first person in the list gets emailed the confirmation and often this is not the person who did the registration or is the cardholder.

is there such functionality we could apply?

can you please provide some details on how to go about this?

Hi,

This can be done by adding at least one question to the registration form, setting up a question group, and using the answer to the question in the email’s To: field. First you add a new question for “Booking Contact Email Address”, set the question type to Email, and set the question to be required.

Add question
(In Event Espresso → Registration Forms)
Then you can add more questions like “Booking Contact Name” and so on.

Then, you add a “Booking Contact Info” question group. You’ll assign the Booking Contact Email Address” question (and any other of the “booking contact” questions to this question group.

Add question group

Then you go to edit the event and you’ll add the group for the primary attendee only.

Set question group

Finally, you can set the send to email address for the Primary Registrant message by adding a shortcode to the email’s TO: field:
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*Booking Contact Email Address]

Set email to field
(In Event Espresso → Messages → Default Message Templates)
