We’ve developed the site on a development server and now need to go live. How do I reset license for the domain so it points to the live server domain?
I found an option but it wants me to pay again. I’m not interested in have a license on both the dev server and the live server. Am I looking in the wrong place?
ok – let’s be clear… You are going to charge me to to reset so that we can move our site to a production server? You’ve got to be kidding me. Don’t you guys work with developers? Who does development on a production server? We don’t – that would dangerous.
There may be some confusion over the license keys in this instance, which I’ll try to clear up here. We highly recommend running a development server and making changes on it first before moving over to production. That’s how this site is set up. Before we make a change to it, we push the code to a dev subdomain and test first, then deploy to live.
That said, we cannot supply two license keys per single license. So the key can be set for one or the other. Not both. I don’t what they are charging for the reset, but there should be a link with the reset that explains this. I don’t think it’s that much, it basically covers our time to do the reset.
Update: Looks like I didn’t get the memo about the reset policy. I’ve reset your key per our policy reseting the key for free on moving from testing to live. Sorry for the confusion.
