Hi guys,

Sorry for the later reply, I see this original thread has been closed for replies [https://eventespresso.com/topic/access-to-features-with-business-license/] We’ve just recently had the time to fully test the event manager, with each plugin turned off.

In response to Dean’s last message:

1) Generate new API keys. A general Google search suggests that this works for some people. You would be best removing all keys on your reCAPTCHA account and create new ones.
—Great suggestion, thank you – we’ve created new API keys.

2) Test with all plugins (apart from EE) de-activated and a default theme. Though I cannot see a clash, it is possible that something is conflicting with the reCAPTCHA JavaScript.
—We’ve turned off each plugin, and tested the form multiple times. The form is currently responding properly, with the error box showing when it is supposed to, however now the [green-border] successful confirmation container is not displaying any text, just the border and white interior.

Can you kindly let us know what may be going on? As well, with Captcha being one of the key reasons we purchased a Pro license, and with this issue not solved, we’d like to request a refund for the first two months of product use.

Thank you,

-Betty

Oh dear — it had worked once, but then even if I’m entering the correct Captcha phrases, the result is still an error message, and I have to click “Finalize Registration” to continue to the confirmation screen.

More often, we have events that don’t include paid tickets. Is there a way for us to turn off the “Step 2 – Proceed to Payment” function all together, and have users go from entering their information, to Captcha, to Approved Confirmation?

Thanks,

-Betty

Hello,

Could you link to an event so I can take a look at this for you?

*I apologize for the double post, however I just wanted to let you know that I’ve tested and found out something interesting:

When testing the Custom Questions and Captcha today, I went to add 10x Registrants at one time, and then purposely misspelled the Captcha words. The page refreshed, giving me another chance to enter the Captcha words. I decided to stop at that point, and check the “total amount tickets sold” — and sure enough, there were 10x tickets that had been sold, even though these 10x Registrants hadn’t properly be registered. **The 10x test names do not appear under the Registrations information, however the Event does show “10x tickets Sold.”

I hope this helps shed more light on what may be happening.

Thank you for your patience with us, it is appreciated!

-Betty

The finalize registration button shouldn’t appear until the step 1 has been completed.

Is that something that you have added yourself?

I double checked the CSS code, and it doesn’t appear that we’ve added anything that is making the ID or classes display. *Turned off all our current Espresso styles, and that didn’t update anything visible, the “Finalize Registration” button in Step 1 still appears.

Hi,

In your child themes CSS is this line

.spco-step-dv {display: block !important;}

It is causing the finalise registration button to appear so needs to be removed from your CSS.

I’m not seeing a reason why the ticket sales are being increased, it’s not something I can replicate locally.

Are you clicking the Finalize button when this happens?

Thank you!! Removing “display block” helped remove that second button!!

*When we proceed from entering the correct Captcha information, we’re currently seeing an empty green-border container, as well as a red-border box with just this code: “SNGPGCHC-DSNGPGCHC-PRORECRES-1583”

Do you think we’ve deleted something by accident??

Thank you,

-Betty

Hi,

It’s possible. All I know right now is that the error message is telling us (in a very cryptic manner) that there is a problem with the registration process and it has not succeeded.

I would perhaps revert to a default version of the plugin.

Hi Dean,

I completely reinstalled the plugin, and it is still doing the same.
What do you mean to “revert to a default version?” Do you mean to say that we need to install EE3, instead of the latest version?

Hi there,

Dean meant to say a freshly downloaded copy of Event Espresso 4, just in case something got deleted.

I’m curious to know whether the registration form works correctly when you’re logged into the site vs when you’re logged out, can you try testing to see if it helps if you’re logged in?

Hi Josh,

The registration form works correctly only when logged in. However, as has been mentioned before, we do not want to require participants to log in to the site in order to register for an event.

When registering without logging in, the submission screen shows a green-outlined box “Attendee information submitted successfully” AND a red-outlined box indicating incorrect anti-spam phrase. Conflicting messages! I have done this several times ensuring each time that the correct anti-spam phrase is input and refreshing the phrase if it is unreadable.

Even with the conflicting messages, I am able to click on the button to complete the transaction, subsequently receiving an “order confirmation” (incorrect language, since this is events not products) and a second green box indicating “no payment required,” which is correct in this case. HOWEVER, as a participant, I would not have continued on with completing registration at the first red box seen.

I see in the forum that someone else is having a similar problem. We have not yet been able to completely successfully implement EventEspresso on our site. If we cannot resolve this soon we will have to look for alternative applications.

We do appreciate your prompt attention to this matter!

-B.

Hi there,

Can you try updating to Event Espresso 4.2? There was one fix to the re-captcha feature in that version. While the issue it fix doesn’t match the specific issue you are having with the recaptcha feature, it does fix the part where the “Anti-Spam Measure: Please enter the following phrase” message continues to display after you’ve entered a correct phrase.

Aside from that, I can recommend testing this out with all other plugins temporarily disabled along with the twenty fourteen theme active to help rule out any potential conflicts.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve tested the registration form while each plugin was deactivated, however the issue persists. I’d also reinstalled the plugin completely.

We’ve updated the plugin to version 4.2.2, and it appears that the confirmation container IS there, however the file EE_Error.core.php contains an inline style “display: none;” When I removed the style (Line 651, as well as a few other lines), the confirmation container is now showing when appropriate (green border Confirmed, red border Incorrect Anti-Spam Phrase).

*One thing I’d noticed during testing the form is that when I’d purposely entered incorrect Captcha phrases, the “@” symbol is removed from the email address field. Mildly inconvenient, and may cause user headaches if they continually get the Captcha phrases incorrect.

As well, I noticed our thread for “Answers Not Displaying for Custom Questions” thread is no longer accepting responses. **Is there really nothing that we can do in order to make the Custom Questions record answers?

Thank you,

-B.

Hi Betty,

I’m not able to reproduce the issue with the @ sign being removed from the email address field. I’m wondering if there’s a JavaScript conflict happening on this page because normally the display:none inline style gets overruled by Event Espresso’s JavaScript in order to show the messages.

Can you update your test event (it’s currently not available) so we can take another look?

bdearth

It’s not a huge deal about the “@” symbol disappearing. Here is a link to a test event. Please let us know when you are finished with testing, so that we may remove the content from the site, to avoid real people signing up!!

Thank you!

When you removed the inline styles it has the affect of making the notices persistent. Can you try restoring the inline styles on line 651 and the other places where they were removed? Please note that Event Espresso’s Javascript will override those styles to make them display.

Thanks, Josh. As well:

***My apologies, I’d had to create a new event for testing. Please find it here: http://www.itc.mb.ca/events/this-is-a-test-event-2/
