Abandoned Registrations – Is there a way to send a link to complete payment?

Hi,

We are using EE4 and Stripe for payment processing.

Sometimes we have people that begin checkout, go through registering people but do not complete the payment.

These show up as Abandoned under EE Registrations in the admin panel.

Is there any way to send the primary registrant a link to complete the payment process so that they wouldn’t have to go through and re-enter multiple user registrations just to get back to the payment screen?

Note: During that checkout process, the primary registrant was already created as a wordpress user account, so I’m wondering if there is any way they can log into their account and complete payment?

thanks,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

If you click on the TXN Date for that registration, you’ll see the transaction details.

On that page is a Payment Reminder email, that contains a link they can use to go back to the payment options step and complete the purchase:

You can also edit that email if preferred:

Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default message template -> Payment Reminder -> Edit Primary Registrant.

Is that what you are looking for?

Hi Tony,

Yes, but when I click on that, there is no button for sending a payment reminder.

Only view invoice or view receipt.

Is the payment reminder message active?

Go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Settings -> Email.

Make sure the payment reminder email is not in the inactive messengers.

Ok that was the issue!

So in looking at that email, if they click the transaction ID, they will automatically be taken to the cart? Do they need to log in?

In the situation I currently have, the primary registrant has registered himself, plus 2 other people. So will clicking on that transaction ID allow him to pay for everyone and also still include the discount code he applied during his checkout?

They will be taken to the payment options step for their checkout.

Do they need to log in?

It depends how you are forcing users to log in now, if using the WP user integration add-on, then no.

In the situation I currently have, the primary registrant has registered himself, plus 2 other people. So will clicking on that transaction ID allow him to pay for everyone and also still include the discount code he applied during his checkout?

The primary registrant is considered the user that is handling all payments for the group, so yes they can pay for all of the registrations and the payment options.

The promotion field is shown on the payment options step, so if it doesn’t show already they will have the chance to apply it.
