Hello!

This is a reminder about PayPal fees (e.g. transaction fees) and your buyers (customers).

As part of the PayPal agreement, you agree not to add a surcharge (e.g. extra fee) to a purchase to cover the PayPal transaction fees.

You can see the PayPal agreement here:

https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full#4

Section 4.5 explains this further:

4.5 No Surcharges. You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions.

If you need to apply an admin fee, then you can do so by using the price modifier option on a per ticket basis. Note that this will apply on a per ticket basis which means that all registrants/attendees (e.g. customers) will pay this fee regardless of the payment option that is selected.

Another way to explain the above is that this fee will be applied through all payment methods so if you were accepting payments via check, PayPal, and Braintree, then the admin fee would apply to all payment options that you have enabled for your registrants/attendees to use.

Here is an example in the ticket editor which is part of the event editor:

If you are uncertain or need clarification, then check with PayPal support.

Thanks

Lorenzo
