I followed the instructions in the email sent by Garth this morning with regards to messages not working properly in 4.0.  However, after turning messages off, I’m unable to turn them back on again, and am still getting the following error at the top of the page:

WordPress database error: [Table ‘jrene_wrdp1.wp_esp_message_template_group’ doesn’t exist]

SELECT * FROM wp_esp_message_template_group LEFT JOIN wp_esp_message_template ON wp_esp_message_template_group.GRP_ID = wp_esp_message_template.GRP_ID WHERE MTP_is_active =1 AND MTP_deleted =0 AND MTP_messenger =’email’ ORDER BY wp_esp_message_template_group.GRP_ID ASC

Any help appreciated!
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

It doesn’t look like the database table was created, which would normally happen on plugin activation. It may be that you’re already on version.7. In which case, you could “fake” a version number change by deactivating Event Espresso, then by going into espresso.php and changing the version numbers on lines 9 and 33 to say 4.0.1.beta.7.1

When you reactivate, it will trigger a database update script.

After that, you can do the last two steps:

Visit the Messages -> Settings page and turn OFF and then back ON the email messenger
Visit the Messages -> Overview tab and all the regenerated message templates should be there.
