100% Discount & Confirmation Email

Hi guys,

I have an education event where we will have 50% paying customers and 50% staff (in need of free tickets). I had planned to do this by using the Promos Plug-in to create a 100% discount code. But have seen a few forum users saying that this then does not send a confirmation email/ticket as no payment is taken?

Is this still the case?
Any ideas on how I can achieve the result we need?

Hi Sam,

The registration approved message type goes out after a successful registration.

If an event is free as in no cost, then this happens right after a guest shares their registration details.

If an event is paid and they pay after sharing their registration details, then they’ll get registration approved right after.

If an event is paid and a promotion reduces the cost, then this happens after it is applied which zeroes the balance due.

So to answer your question, they will still receive a registration email.
