The ordering of the tickets is set as follows:
'TKT_order' => 'ASC',
'TKT_required' => 'DESC',
'TKT_start_date' => 'ASC',
'TKT_end_date' => 'ASC',
'Datetime.DTT_EVT_start' => 'DESC'
So if the TKT order has been completely lost, it would order by if the ticket was required, then TKT start date, TKT end date and finally on the datetime start date.
However, the ticket order is saved within the tickets row in the database, so it would be really odd for that to be lost without other problems showing.
If you check the server’s error logs do you see any errors from EE there?
