Questions Groups won't populate on Registration Form

This is the second website that I’ve used Event Espresso on – so I’m very familiar with this product but am seriously stumped with this issue:

I have three scenorios of membership registration: 1) Regular Membership (which isn’t the problem as it is for one person) 2) Regular Membership + Second Family Member (The question group “Second Family Member” will not generate on the Reg Form and 3) Regular Membership, Second Family Member + Additional Family Member (The question group “Second Family Member” and “Additonal Family Member will not generate on the Reg Form). I have tried every scenario I can think of to get the question groups to show up. I had to remove “Allow Group Registration” because it was charging each “name” the full price of the group membership. I’m using EE3 and my hosting is HostPapa – any ideas what may be blocking the question groups from populating on the reg form?

Thanks,
Chrissy

Hi Chrissy,

Do you happen to have the Roles and Permissions add-on activated? If so, and you are not actually using it, please deactivate it an see if that fixes the issue.

Also, have you selected which question groups you want to use for registration within the event editor (toward the bottom on the right)?

Hi Chrissy,

Can you link us to one of your events so we can view this please?

Thanks Jonathan – I didn’t install the Roles and Permissions this time and have since deactivated Multi Event Registration, and yes, I’ve selected the question groups (and de-selected questions and cleared cache and reslected question groups multiple times out of desperation..sigh 😉

I’ve tried the single event shortcode [SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=”regular-membership-second-family-member-additional-family-members-1-54e0f55″] and right now have this shortcode [EVENT_LIST category_identifier=membership] on the membership page.

This is the page in question:
http://pgcyclingclub.ca/membership/
Everyhtings been stripped as I proceed to find a solution – I had to remove the Group Registration as it was adding unwanted additonal pricing (full price to each attendee that someone was adding).

Thanks!

Hi, it sounds like you done some troubleshooting by double-checking that the question groups are enabled through the event editor.

Could you share a temporary login via this link?

Hi Christine,

I think I know what is going on here.

Event Espresso 3 needs a name and an email for each registrant to receive their own registration and be listing in the attendee records screen.

Otherwise, any extra information that is collected will be linked to the primary registrant.

For this event, you have question groups created that should show the personal information field:

http://pgcyclingclub.ca/event-registration/?ee=3

However, that is already setup for the primary registrant/attendee.

Try this:

For the event above, remove those question groups for second family member and additional family member.

Then turn on group registrations here:

http://cl.ly/image/042g3b3E1D0H

Then try another registration and you should see an option to add additional attendees just below the registration form.

It should allow up to two additional registrants/attendees and collect the information that you need.

Hi Lorenzo,

You’re right that if I turn on “Allow Group Registrations” it will show “Add Additonal Attendee” BUT it charges the “additional attendees” the full price of membership that’s why I was trying to use question groups. In my mind if I add the question groups to the event it would automatically populate those extra fields (without the user having to click additional attendee) and only charge the one price of $60…any other ideas?

Hi Christine,

Could you split that cost up so its per person?
