Hi,
I have installed the Decaf plugin but have noticed there is no Main Registration Page created as per your instructions in basic settings.

Hi KAPG,

Can I ask which instructions your are referring to please?

Is it this page? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/the-basic-settings/

If so that’s for EE3. The Decaf version of Event Espresso is EE4 which works differently, the documentation for that version is available here:

https://eventespresso.com/support/documentation/versioned-docs/?doc_ver=ee4

Does that help?

I did have EE4 Decaf installed so yes was getting confused. I did however find it just too difficult to use so am now trying EE3 lite.

The documentation does seem confusing… I need a step by step guide to get going!
Thanks

Hello, if you switched from Event Espresso 4 decaf to Event Espresso 3 lite, then there are shortcodes that need to be updated.

Event Registration page – [ESPRESSO_EVENTS]
Thank you page – [ESPRESSO_PAYMENTS]
Registration cancelled page – [ESPRESSO_CANCELLED]
Transactions page – [ESPRESSO_TXN_PAGE]

Could you update the shortcodes for those pages in your WP dashboard?

Then go to Event Espresso –> General Settings and double-check that those pages are assigned like this:

Hi Lorenzo, Thanks, I’ve checked all that and they were all ok. The thing I’m struggling to understand now is the use of categories. My event has five different categories within the event (age groups) I have created these and ticked to display them on events listing page. Does this mean that people should be able to register in the specific age category (this is what I’d like!)
Thanks

Hello, that is a good question. When you create event categories, this allows you to easily showcase them on a page using a shortcode.

In the regular version of Event Espresso 3, we have a page that shows the name of an event category along with the shortcode. Here is an example:

So if you wanted to show events from the koi and otters category, then you could use this shortcode:

[EVENT_ESPRESSO_CATEGORY event_category_id=”koiotters”]
