Is there any update on the .ics export feature? Or a jerry rig? Work around?
I could really use a mass export from our calendar using Espresso to several other calendars (not using Espresso)

The other guys are all able to swap calendars, boss isn’t to happy that we can’t. Gulp!

Additional Question:
Is there anyway to backup, download, export the entire calendar from the Espresso program?
Anyway to pull all the events at once, not using the database?
OR Is there a plugin that you know of that could backup, download, export all the events from the calendar?

Hi,

It was added to the feature list, but most new features are on hold as all of our resources are going into finishing off EE 4.0.

If needed you could contact one of our recommended developers – https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/

“Is there anyway to backup, download, export the entire calendar from the Espresso program?”

The calendar just uses the events, so you could export the events to CSV via the Event overview page, or you could export the database. Depends on what you are trying to do.

“Anyway to pull all the events at once, not using the database?”

It will always use the database as that’s where the data is, but one option could be the JSON API – https://eventespresso.com/wiki/api-addon/

“Is there a plugin that you know of that could backup, download, export all the events from the calendar?”

Similar to above, depends on what you are trying to do, most decent backup plugins will export database tables other than the default WordPress ones.

Thank you.
“”“Any way to pull all the events at once, not using the database?”
It will always use the database as that’s where the data is, “””
I’m giving myself a DUH! on that one, I know that. Sorry should have worded that differently. I meant to say is there away to pull all the events from the database without having to go in and manually do it myself. I’ve dropped one to many databases, I hate touching them.

What I’m trying to do is come up with a way to jerry rig a download of all the events/information that we can use until you guys develop a ics style download/transfer/import/export.
After I’ll figure out away to jerry rig that, I’ll figure out away to create the .ics out of it. One step at a time (:

I think I get what you’re saying above. If you have any further ideas please let me know.
Looking forward to the .ics upgrade – will that possibly be in EE 4.0?

Hi eDee,
You can try out an all events .ics export by replacing the file includes/functions/ical.php with the one you can download here. It’s been tested a little, but any feedback you can give would be welcome.
To use it, add the shortcode ALL_EVENTS_ICAL somewhere.

That didn’t work (:
I received a ton of errors and I couldn’t create posts or pages until I pulled it via FTP and put the backup back in place.

If you’d like me to send you the errors, I’ll set it up again and email the information to you.

Yes, if you could set it back up, that would be great. I set it up on my test server, and am not seeing any errors, so if I could see what errors you are seeing, that would be helpful. Thanks.

Would it be possible to email this to you?
Some of the information in the error I don’t want to post and I don’t want to edit it out because it could be important.

Absolutely, just send them to support@eventespresso.com. Thanks.

I sent you back an email with a fresh copy. From the error message, it looks like the line 1 of your copy of the file is sending some output, which it shouldn’t.
