Event espresso not registering people for events

I have paid events set up in EE4 and whenever someone registers and pays they don’t appear as registered in the admin panel of EE4.

To clarify, the individual is not fully registered, because their transaction comes back as incomplete with the message ‘IPN Validation failed! Paypal responded with ‘INVALID”.

Hi Ismail,

IPN Validation failed

The IPN needs to be able to reach your site for the payment to be linked to the registrant. Are you using any sort of security plugins?

I don’t have any security plugins, although I do use HTTPS.

Hi,

Did you recently setup the SSL certificate?

Also, is this a live test or a test via the PayPal Sandbox?

I set up the certificate around 3 weeks ago. This is a live test.

Alright, try these steps:

1) Login to your WordPress dashboard and go to Event Espresso –> General Settings. Then turn on full logging:

…and save changes.

2) Then try another transaction and then browse to this location:

/wp-content/uploads/espresso/logs

Take a look at the log files and check to see if there are any references to the PayPal IPN.

If there are, then copy and paste those parts of the log file in a reply.

Then go back to the full logging option in Event Espresso within your WP dashboard and turn it off and save changes.
