Is EE 4 ready for barcode and using iPhone/iPad to scan attendees yet? Apparently, we have to continue using EE 3 for this features, right?

Hi Jed,
At this time yes, Event Espresso 4 doesn’t have the ticket scanning features, yet.

As far as I know, we are looking at offering integration with handheld scanners with the Ticketing add-on rewrite. Sorry I don’t have an eta at this point in time.

The reason we are moving to handheld scanners with the Ticketing add-on rewrite, is because the mobile app development is really really expensive and will take ~ 6 months to implement. Whereas the handheld scanners are much more cost effective to develop and the hardware is very inexpensive. I found handheld scanners on Amazon for under $25 dollars.
We will eventually rewrite the mobile apps and the JSON API (required for the mobile apps), but I expect it’s going to be at least a year before that happens.
