At Event Espresso we are committed to getting feedback and opinions from the community about new features and changes that we are adding into the core plugin and add on plugins. As such we have opened up a Pre-release channel to premium members where you can easily access the latest Beta releases that we are testing and evaluating. This means is that you can get a heads up about new features before we announce them and you can get involved by testing out the plugins and providing feedback to us. This not only helps us iron out potential bugs and issues, but allows you to help forge and shape how the final product will look and function. We will release items individually and they will be accompanied by a forum post on the Pre-release channel forum.

While everything in the Pre-release channel is Beta, with our new development schedule, this will mean that these items have gone through a month of internal testing by the support team. For this reason, they should be considered release candidates. You can test these on your live site and, if you experience any new issues, you can deactivate the pre-release version and re-activate the stable version.

How do I get it?

  • Log into your Event Espresso account page and scroll down to the downloads section and you will see a new checkbox (tickbox) for signing up to the Pre-release channel.
  • Tick that and agree to the waiver and the Pre-release items will appear in a box below your regular downloads. We have set a waiver in place because, as mentioned above these downloads may not be fully stable, so just to reiterate please don’t use them on a live production site. Full details can be found in the Pre-release documentation.

Version 3.1.30.7P-final-beta Now Being Tested:

  • Event Filter issues
  • Fixed the issue where the earliest event that can be seen is 5 days old.
  • Admin buttons style changes
  • iDEAL clashing with other plugins such as WooCommerce JetPack a workaround to enable the latest version to not break things
  • Promotional codes should now work correctly when sent to paypal and other gateways.
  • Confirmation page HTML comments resolved to stop hidden inputs breaking
  • Language file “side load”
  • A System Status page has been added to the admin screens
  • Hooks for adding templates to the theme rather than the plugin
  • Error fixed when deleting additional attendees

So, I am testing things, should I look for anything?
Well, we would really appreciate it if whilst you are having a look at what’s new and upcoming, if you notice anything that is wrong, broken or has strange issues to report it to us. Please report any issues you discover with version 3.1.30.7P-final-beta within this thread.

Reporting Bugs/Errors
You can report bugs in the forum thread for that particular prelease (each time we release something to the channel we will announce it in the Pre-release forum. Please try and be as exact and clear as possible in reporting any issues, and if you can, screenshots are always welcome.

Please note: We will only respond and act upon bug fixes not feature requests, and it would really help us if you don’t mention feature requests at all in the Pre-release channel forum as this can confuse matters.
