iPad App Now Available

iPad Login Screen

The Event Espresso iPad app allows you to transform your iPad or iPad Mini into an onsite attendee management tool. This sweet little app allows you to quickly check-in attendees and view information at your events and attendees. Built-in ticket scanning capabilities allow you to scan tickets at your classes, meetings, conventions, concerts, and everything in between.

What can I do with this thing?

This thing makes your life easier on the day of the event. The large screen display allows you to see more information quickly, and track the current situation with your event registration. Here are few more fun things you can do with it:

  • Detailed ticket scanning system
  • Manual attendee check-in and check-out
  • Detailed registration and check-in tracking
  • Attendee registration forms (coming soon)
  • Detailed attendee, event, and venue information

Where can I download it?

Event Espresso iPad AppThe Event Espresso HD iPad app is part of our growing library of mobile apps and can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store. Don’t have an iPad? You can use our iPhone/iPod or Android apps to scan tickets as well. More information on our Ticketing addon page.

Important Note:

You will need to download and install the new JSON API addon to connect your iPad to your website. If you have a current Business, Developer, or Ticketing support license, the JSON API add-on will be available in your account.

How does it work?

Using the Event Espresso JSON API addon (a required plugin), once installed on your WordPress website, the iPad app can retrieve a complete data set of events and attendee data, allowing you access to most of the attendee admin features of Event Espresso. Future versions of the app will allow you to add and edit event and attendee data, directly from the app.

Please visit the Mobile Apps documentation page of our site for installation and settings.

  1. Any plans to make this sort of useful attendee management tool available in a website version? I really could use some of this functionality, but I don’t want to go and buy an iPad just to use it 😉

    Thanks!

    • Hi Mr Scratch,

You can use Event Espresso on any WordPress website. The iPad app is just an extension of the core Event Espresso functionality.

  2. Hye ! Your work looks awesome !!
I’m actually looking for a event manager like this one for my client. I’m testing it with your testdrive demo and i’m really seduced by your solution ! But just one thing, i’m also testing this application and when i try to scan the QRCode, it suddenly quits… Is it because of the test-drive ?

    Thanks !
    (sorry for my english…)

    • It could be because of the number of events that people have created are causing the app to crash. Post in our Pre-Sales forum and we can see if we can get it cleaned up for you.

    • Not currently. That feature will come in a future version.

  3. Hi Garth,

We host lots of events on our conference and exhibition directory website on behalf of our media partners. Is possible for our media partners to download this app and manage only their events without access to other events?

    Cheers,
    Tyler

    • Only if the user’s events are on different WordPress installations.

      • Actually, I think we added support for this in the JSON API. So “event managers” can view their own events. However, I don’t think this has been truly tested.

    • We’ve considered a table app for Android devices, but no schedule to it right now. Do you use the phone version?

  5. I am using event espresso for trade registration for my event – looking around 2000 people on one day. I would like to use your ticketing function at the event to check in people as they arrive but it needs to work quickly as we have several hundred people wanting to get-in as soon as the doors open – will it be quick enough and not crash if there are say 3 or 4 people using ipads or iphones to check in (had this happen before and was a nightmare!)
Also how can we use the ticket to double as a name badge and use the QR Code to store the info they entered on the website so other attendees can scan each other’s badges instead of handing out business cards? (we are a green event)
the event is in October this year but we open for registration on May 1.
Really appreciate an honest feedback as can’t afford issues on the day – Thanks

    • We haven’t tested with thousands of attendees and multiple people checking in via the app simultaneously, but in theory there’s no reason it shouldn’t work.

The ticketing addon version 2.1 that’s currently in Alpha will include some name badge templates (2 different sizes), so you’ll be able to use those, but you can’t store any additional data in the QR codes — they just contain attendee information for that attendee to be used by the mobile apps.

    • HI Mariela,

Sorry for the really late reply. You will want to consider purchasing the Printable Tickets and Ticket Scanning add-ons we have coming out shortly after EE 4.5 is released (soon).
